THE QUESTION

What is the world
really made of?

I'm a physics undergraduate at Ashoka University. This is my record of learning the quantum mechanics, mathematics and physical intuition that lead into particle physics.

My reading project with Prof. Sourav Pal has taken me through scattering, identical particles and spin. His next direction: learn second quantization. Alongside that, I've been working through relativistic quantum mechanics, including the Klein–Gordon and Dirac equations.

FROM THEORY TO A TRACE

The invisible
leaves a signature.

Scattering is where abstract wavefunctions meet something we can measure. It's also where my reading starts to connect with my data projects.

02 / THE NOTEBOOK

Thinking, on paper.

Derivations, questions and things I'm still making sense of. A growing collection of notes from what I'm learning.

Real data.
Better questions.

Early work with LHCb open data. Learning the analysis, testing the assumptions, documenting the mistakes.

STUDY 01

Finding a B± mass peak

Reading a ROOT file, plotting reconstructed candidate masses and trying a Gaussian-plus-background fit.

STUDY 02

Beyond the peak

Testing a vertex-quality cut, comparing fit models and looking at residuals. An analysis exercise, not a precision measurement.
